Jennifer Little Artwork

Jennifer Little

20 years ago, Jennifer began to recall childhood abuse and to see a psychiatrist, which she found to be a disempowering and depressing experience. She now works with a psychologist who supports her in trauma release, voice dialogue, and meditation. Through this, Jennifer says “I have now healed on many levels. I have integrated many of my parts and now have a fulfilled, creative life.”

This artwork depicts the relationship between psychiatrist and patient. When the person and parts are not believed by the psychiatrist, there is an intense feeling of fragility. The psychiatrist holds a 10 tonne weight over the patient and is indifferent to the suffering, fear and distrust. The person is caught between the need for support to deal with the memories of abuse and powerlessness and fear in the so-called therapeutic relationship.
